JOB DESCRIPTION: Receptionist/Registrar/Scheduler

First Lutheran Church Mission Statement:  “Our mission at First Lutheran Church is to bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and to help them to grow in the Christian faith.”

Congregational Profile: First Lutheran is a 5000+ member congregation of the ELCA located in a downtown urban setting in Fargo, North Dakota.  Average worship attendance is around 1,000 a week.

Employment Status: Full-time position

Expectations: To be a welcoming face-to-face and on-the-phone presence that represents First Lutheran Church; to track registration, participation, and attendance for classes; and be of organizational support for the Family Life team.

  • Manage the FLC official calendar
  • Create and track registrations for events, classes, trips
  • Assist family life efforts as outlined below

FaithTalk and Club 56
  • Make sure all families are registered and CMO is up-to-date
  • Track attendance and “Missed You” postcards
  • Create and populate classroom placements
  • Send out letters, postcards, emails, etc. in collaboration with the marketing efforts and Director of Children’s Ministry
  • Help communicate, organize and track attendance of Milestone events
  • Collect information from volunteer leaders (contact information, background checks)
  • Oversee supply purchases and inventories
  • Organize trip details (buses, accommodations, food, pricing, etc) that do not fall under the First in Missions Director
  • Help with substitute teacher list and usage
  • Work with Children’s Ministry Director for other efforts as needed
Servant Leadership Academy
  • Use Sign-up Genius to create and manage classes, send reminders, etc.
    • Create attendance sheets for each class
    • Enter attendance into master Excel document
    • Track pew views
    • Work with volunteer coordinator to fill and track student volunteer efforts
    • Collect and summarize evaluations of SLA classes
  • Is directly accountable to the Administrator, who reports to the Senior Pastor
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and weekly department meetings
