A Place to Belong:
Becoming a “member” of First Lutheran Church
Two-part class (must attend both): Wednesday, October 18, 5:30-7 p.m. and Sunday, October 22, 10-11 a.m. Welcome during 11 a.m. worship.
People often wonder, “Why should I join the church? Why not just go and participate without joining?” Let’s first look at what the word “member” means. In the church, a member is someone who has said, “I’m committed to being a part of a people who hear the word of God preached; who partake of grace through Communion and Baptism; and who commit to loving and looking out for each other.”
As you begin your journey to “Belong” to First Lutheran Church, keep in mind that you are really Disciples, not just attendees. Disciples are equipped and trained, passionate about changing the world and doers of the word, not just believers of the word. Our hope for you is to not just be, but followers of Jesus. We welcome you to belong and commit to being a part of this body of Christ of First Lutheran Church. Please contact Shirley Tietz, or call 701.235.7389.
