GENEROSITY & STEWARDSHIP
Generosity is an important part of who we are as Christians and how we live out our faith at First Lutheran Church (FLC).
We have two different committees that meet on a regular basis at FLC – The Foundation and the Global Mission Committee.
They meet to discuss needs in our community and around the world and find ways to steward the resources that God has given our church to help people in need. Please see more information below and find out how you can request grants for funding.
The Foundation
The First Lutheran Church (FLC) Foundation functions to sustain the mission and vision of FLC through:
- Strategic Focus: The Foundation helps ensure that the Church’s mission and vision are maintained over time, with dedicated funds supporting specific goals and initiatives.
- Intergenerational Support: The Foundation provides a generational bridge, ensuring that future members can benefit from the Foundation’s work and the Church’s ongoing mission.
- Sustainability: The Foundation provides a structured, sustainable, and strategic way to support and advance the Church’s mission, allowing for greater financial stability, targeted giving, enhanced generosity, and expanded outreach.

Due to the generosity of FLC members, the Foundation can provide impactful grants to ensure FLC’s mission and vision is sustained over time.

Global Mission Committee
God has a mission, and that mission has a Church! We, as a church, get to be part of what God is doing and what God wants to do in the world.
Through First Lutheran Church (FLC) and its Global Mission Committee, we are following Jesus’ invitation to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. We have ongoing relationships with 15 long-term mission partners who are scattered around the world. In addition, we partner with organizations and ministries around the world. We provide strength and support through prayer, financial support, and by sending First Lutheran folks on life-changing mission experiences.
