Faith in Film: Overcomer
Saturday October 19   |   9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
You're invited to a FREE movie morning at First Lutheran! Open to all ages, we'll watch in our BibleMax Theater. We'll show "Overcomer" (PG) - a film about a high school basketball coach that is asked to take over the cross country program, where he encounters a troubled teen. The movie explores themes of family, chronic illness, faith relationships, forgiveness, and more. No registration required, hope to see you there!

Mission Soup and Congregation Service Project
Sunday, October 20   |   10 a.m. - 12 p.m.   |   The Great Hall

All are welcome to join us for an opportunity to serve and be served! You are invited to enjoy homemade soup and connect with others (free will offering or $5 to take your soup to go). Mission Soup proceeds will go to our partner, Churches United. There's also an opportunity to engage in a congregation-wide service project! We'll fill 1,000 jars with potato soup mix. These soup jars will be sold for $20/jar at our Marketplace for Mission and all proceeds will also go to support Churches United.

Women Connect: Breakfast Outing

Join us for our next Women Connect event! We’ll meet for breakfast on a Saturday morning in downtown Fargo. Open to women of all ages – invite a friend or come to meet new ones over coffee and breakfast! Register in advance to plan for space. Each person is responsible to pay for their own meal. Grief During the Holidays

Managing grief during the holiday season can be overwhelming. This gathering will enable people to identify and learn how to manage emotions that can surface when grieving during the holidays. Anyone is welcome to attend this FREE event and a light lunch will be provided. No registration required.

Global Mission Brunch

Join us for a brunch catered by Heart-n-Soul Community Café and a chance to learn more about the work our global mission committee and church does to support God's work around the world. We'll have keynote speakers, Laura and Jorge, a couple we support who are doing mission work in Ecuador! You can register by

Holiday Pops on Broadway: Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra

MEN

Men's Bible Study
Tuesdays   |   September 24 - November 19   |   7 p.m.

Men of all ages are invited to a Bible Study with Rollie Johnson. The group will study, "God is Closer Than You Think" by John Ortberg - a book that explores how you can have a closer relationship with God. The group watches a video, breaks into small group discussion groups for Bible Study, and digests what has been presented. It's a fantastic fellowship of laughter, prayer, and being real together. You're invited to join anytime it works with your schedule! 

WOMEN AND MEN

Bible Study on the Gospel of Matthew

Join Pastor Steve Wold as he leads you through the first book of the New Testament. The major themes include blessing and comfort, judgment and retribution, and a call to repentance with the promise of eternal life. The class includes major references to a new book titled, “The Gospel of Promised Blessings” by author Dr. Matthew Skinner, a New Testament professor at Luther Seminary. "He Loved Them" Book Study

Join Marlee Robertson as she leads you through a study on the book, "He Loved Them", by Jessica Thompson. Discover Jesus' heart for seekers, sinners, doubters, and the discouraged (and other people like us). We'll experience just how much Jesus loves us - even, or especially, in our most fragile or unlovable moments. Please read chapters 1 - 4 before Oct. 16. Join a study on the book "Both: Living Outside the Either/Or of Your Faith" by Noel Brewer Yeatts. President of World Help, Noel Brewer Yeatts, challenges the traditional definition of missions to encompass both help and hope. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Wednesday Supper Volunteers 
Wednesdays  |  Various shifts from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.

We invite you to join us in preparing, serving, and enjoying a sit down meal for our weekly Wednesday Supper served 4:45 - 5:45 p.m. each Wednesday evening. Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of ways to make this meal happen. Follow this link to view available time slots and register for a date and time that works for you. This is a great way to meet others in our congregation. Thank you for CONNECTING through service!

Mission Soup Sunday Volunteers
The third Sunday of each month  |  Various shifts from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Each month small groups in our congregation come together to make homemade soups. On the third Sunday, all are invited to the Great Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to buy these soups and sit in community to connect with each other over a delicious, warm meal. 100% of the proceeds go to our mission partners. We need volunteers to help set up, serve soup, and/or clean up around Sunday worship times for these monthy meals.
